Summary

B Hotel is a newly refurbished hotel located in the heart of Chinatown (Petaling Street) looking to add value to the hospitality industry by integrating Malaysian culture and heritage concepts into the hotelier business.

Our hotel is located strategically in the heart of KL City accessible by MRT & LRT, making it convenient for overseas & domestic travelers alike looking for a fresh twist of local heritage to their luxury accommodation at budget price.

Problem

● Very few states in Malaysia are under the UNESCO list despite being rich in culture and heritage.

● Though Malaysia is rich in culture and heritage there are only 5 states which are listed on UNESCO’s list, which are: Sabah, Sarawak, Melaka, Penang, and Perak.

Solution

Product

The following concept art showcases B Hotel's uniqueness among our peer competitors:

Exhibit 1: A clean white facade to differentiate our brand from the other hotels in the vicinity.

Exhibit 2: Lightings in strategic positions on the property enhance the night view enticing passers-by for an Instagramable scene.

Exhibit 3: Bright and dark colours contrast paired with indoor planting to create a luxury ambiance to increase consumer satisfaction and comfort.

Exhibit 4: Zen gardens located in between corridors and rooms to allow guests to find tranquility in an otherwise chaotic city environment.

Exhibit 5: Circular and internal lighting to create an ambience of luxury and peace.

Exhibit 6: Floor plan showing a rooftop restaurant as part of the services to increase the property value.

Capitalizing on the heritage theme, we offer various hotel merchandise rooted in cultural motives made from quality materials for guests to purchase which includes pillows, toiletries, and scented products. Thus,  allowing guests to bring “a piece” of Malaysian's heritage back to their home country.

Emulating similar concepts in the market such as Tanamera, we expect merchandise sales with our B Hotel brand to further increase our revenue aside from room rental.

Exhibit 7: Rooftop restaurant and bar as a tourist and local hotspot operated by KARLS Group which has their brands listed under the Michelin Guide to increase foot traffic to B Hotel.

Exhibit 8: Our B spa brand is operated by a founder of True Spa KL, allowing hotel guests and consumers in the vicinity to enjoy an out-of-this-world session free from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Exhibit 9: Our signature brand Sandolicious by Studio KL will be operated at our lounge, enabling guests to enjoy an afternoon of hi-tea for special occasions.

Exhibit 10: Our B Hotel System boasts a comprehensive suite of software solutions designed to elevate the guest experience to unparalleled heights such as Digital Check-In Kiosk, Cloud Based Portal, and Cleaning App.

Traction

The pictures above are taken on-site showing the actual progress of our hotel's interior, built to spec according to artist's impression. We are now at above 80% completion and soon to be able to start operating the hotel.

Bangi Perdana Hotel will also rebrand and join B Hotel Group.

Customers

With our strategic location located on Petaling Street and a stone's throw away from Merdeka 118 tower, we are targeting China tourists and also business travelers in need of accommodations. As reported on Free Malaysia Today, we are capitalizing on the visa-free travel announcement by the government enabling an increase in tourist activities in the hotel's vicinity[1].

Business Model

Market

A quote from The Star[2] on 7th February 2023 states the effect of stronger tourism activity is expected to boost Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP) by at least one percentage point (ppt) in 2023, via further recovery in tourist arrivals, resumption of China outbound traveling, and sustained domestic tourism demand.

In the same report, UOB Global Economics and Markets Research states the expected stronger tourism activity further supports its economic growth forecast of 4% for Malaysia in 2023. The research unit pointed out that the global tourism sector is expected to make a significant leap this year as China reopens its borders.

Competition

[Competitive Advantages]
Strategic Location – Located in the heart of Chinatown
