PROBLEM

Feedback and ratings play an important role in consumer purchase decision-making processes. The problem with current feedback and rating systems they are often manipulated by fake accounts.

Fake reviews have been acknowledged as a critical challenge by both research communities and the e-commerce industry. Despite the commitment of review platforms to combat fraud, the percentage of fake reviews is estimated to be around 15−30%.

SOLUTION

Transparency

To prevent fake reviews, Whizzl makes the whole process transparent, from feedback to ratings and only rapporteurs can rate vendors. The process is divided to four phases: Open – In Progress – Request Close – Closed & Rate.  

Blockchain Technology

The whole process is Blockchain-enabled, so all users can view the feedback and rating process, and understand its progress and how the vendor acquired the rating.

Genuine Geo-Tag Photos

This feature greatly reduces fake feedback for an organisation, preventing users from simply uploading photos from albums or websites. Photos taken with the Whizzl in-App camera have stamping which can be viewed by any given community Admin for clarification purposes. Also, Admin can easily track feedback locations instantly.

Rating Calculations

Ratings in Whizzl will be calculated based on several factors such as time taken to respond, time taken to resolve etc. This data, together with rapporteur’s own rating, ensures a credible and reliable reputation system available for viewing by all users.

As of 31st August 2020, Whizzl user traction has grown steadily at an average of 20%. The increase of communities and locations also indicate that more users are forming their own communities/locations for better communication.

The audited revenue in FYE2019 is RM 803,897.

Most current feedback/review platforms focus more on the business sector, neglecting the residential sector. This is where Whizzl comes in filling this gap by focusing on helping both sectors as residential areas are the heart of every community.

VISION

Whizzl aims to raise RM 500K to RM 2.5M to continue our growth and development. The funds will be mainly utilised in R&D to develop more comprehensive technologies, followed by marketing and business development to create brand awareness, thereby strengthening our team and expansion throughout Malaysia and Australia.

Whizzl has already gained an international presence by launching in Australia with the support of Bayswater & Beyond Chamber of Commerce. Australia’s acceptance is a validation that Whizzl will be accepted in Western culture which will boost our expansion into the global market in the near future.

INVESTORS

Whizzl was co-founded by Dato’ William Chan and Ken Wong who invested RM 1,200,000 in total. Datin Sharon, one of the shareholders of the company, is Dato’ William Chan’s spouse. In early 2020, Whizzl received funding from New Era Capital Partners, an Early - Growth venture fund, Goodhope Century, Regalworth, and TC Earth Solution.
