Providing the Best Mile.

The Problem

Currently, Malaysians rank among the top in the world for highest rate of personal car ownership, and among the lowest in the world for public transportation utilization. Yet, traffic congestion causes not only pain and frustration among our citizens, but also leads to significant time delays, wasted fuel, and high levels of CO2 emissions. A study estimates that these inefficiencies are estimated to cost a staggering 1.1 – 2.2 percent of Malaysia’s GDP annually.

As world-class citizens it is our responsibility to ask – is there a better way?

Research has shown that 30  40% of our daily commuting needs actually consists of short distance travel below 5KM in range. Recent advances in battery technology and electric motors have spawned micro-mobility devices such as e-scooters, e-bikes and e-mopeds, which are cheaper, faster, cleaner and much better suited for travel at these distances. However, the devices are still costly and inconvenient to own, which represents a significant barrier to getting our society to switch to this new seemingly foreign mode of transportation though the benefits are clear, as with any new technological revolution.

Our Solution

Enter – TRYKE. Using a combination of web and mobile based software, data analytics and smart IoT enabled devices, we are able to provide micro-mobility transportation as a service and allow our users convenient and on-demand rental access to our fleet of e-scooters at a very low cost to help complete their short distance commutes. By charging our users a fraction of the cost of device ownership in the form of rental rates, we hope to make the technology more accessible and allow for mass adoption of micro-mobility as a means of transportation once they realize its benefits. This, coupled with our network of parking stations, help to eliminate the hassle and inconvenience of ownership while ensuring that we can still get our users where they need to go, when they need to go, in a responsible and sustainable way (see oBike case study).

We strongly believe in the future of micro-mobility transportation and the potential positive impact it can have on not just our cities, but also our people and our environment. It is however, still a nascent industry, which will require the close cooperation of both public and private players to ensure its successful integration into our daily lives and for its benefits to be fully realized. Hence, we would love for you to join us as an honorable advisor as we are confident that your experience, success, and passion for making an impact in the transportation industry will help propel us forward in building not only a successful business, but also allow us to lead the way in creating an eco-system and regulatory framework for micro-mobility to be used across Malaysia, South East Asia, and the rest of the world. Attached along with this email is our company profile for your reference. We’d love for a chance to meet you in person to share about our vision and discuss this opportunity further and hope to hear back from you soon!
