‘A Pie Thing’ came to fruition mid-2014 amid the explosion of the start-up and independent restaurants and cafes scene in the country. Prior to opening its doors to the public, the business was designed and conceptualized over 18 months by 3 founding owners who were in their mid-20s. The inception of the restaurant late in May 2014 will always be a significant time in not only the company’s history but also in Malaysia’s F&B scene as it marked the opening of the first speciality pie-restaurant café in the country.
